to good to be true? Well you have never heard of Artist's Drive then.
Artist's Drive is a spectacular formation of rock that extremely colorful,
due to layers of volcanic ash. The viewpoint is a definite stopping
point, that enables you to view these amazing color formations up close.
The view as far as the eye can see, is one of wonder and awe. Due to
the narrow road and winding curves RVs are not allowed on this road.
Devil's Golf Course
Golf Anyone? This is not your typical golf course; it is the Devil's
Golf Course. It is made up of blocks of salt that had formed from cooling
and heating, minimizing and expanding, and other geological changes
of the saltpan.. One of the most spectacular things about the Devil?s
Golf Course is underneath its surface lie accumulated deposits, that
are a vision of beauty. Crystals have formed and continue to grow.
The Pinnacles
Calling all 'Trekkies'! This familiar place may be of interest. Just
twenty miles east of Ridgecrest, is the Trona Pinnacles. This is a favorite
spot for many photographers. The Trona Pinnacles comprise North America's
most spectacular display of tufa towers. The Pinnacles was also where
Planet of the Apes was filmed.
